Legendary Characters

Having the itch to play again after a few years, I finally decided the only way I was going to get a game together was to DM it myself. I started out with my now ex-wife Melissa, my cousin Joe and friend Marc.

After a few false starts, I started a campaign which quickly became more Monty Haul than I'd intended. Somehow, despite giving all of the characters some powerful magic items and abilities, I managed to keep the game balanced enough for it to be fun. These characters rarely came across an encounter they couldn't triumph over, but I made sure they had to work VERY hard to do so.

Anathema-1

Anathema-1

Anathema (front). Another of my ex's character, but one I came up with. I was experimenting with using dopplegangers as PCs, and this was a first attempt. Basically, she played it as a mage, but Annie was essentially dual classed as a Psionicist. It m

Clement-1

Clement-1

Sir Clement (front). This is the only page I have for Clement, another of Joe's legends. The proudest moment in his history was when Lillith (see elsewhere in the album) viciously killed one of her minions whom Clement had cast Charm on and ordered to

Gerg-1

Gerg-1

Gerg (front). Being low on muscle when we started the campaign (Luckfudge was it, as I recall), I decided the team needed a henchman. And, as the Complete Book of Humanoids had just come out, I went with half-ogre as the best choice.

Gerg-2

Gerg (back). Yes. Gerg had a pet songbird named Tweet and he wrote poetry. If you have an issue with that, I suggest you take it up with him. I recommend being WELL outside the reach of that enormous club of his...

Lillith-1

Lillith-1

Lillith (front). To this day, if you say the word "Lillith" to my cousin Joe...he WILL cry a little. She was the party's nemesis for a couple of years. Knowing I'd gotten myself into a situation where I had a powerful party, I often had to ra

Lillith-2

Lillith-2

Lillith (back). Lillith's innate magical abilities. These are before we start to throw in her spell casting ability as an 18th level cleric/magic-user. Of special note on this sheet: the saint ability "can cast spells with but a single word".

Luckfudge-1

Luckfudge-1

Sir Luckfudge Black (front). Yes, you read that right, his name was Luckfudge. As I recall, his name came about when my cousin Joe was rolling the character up. He had rolled, I think, a 3 for one of his abilities and I told him he could re-roll. One

Luckfudge-2

Luckfudge-2

Sir Luckfudge Black (back). As a paladin, Luckfudge was limited in what items he could possess. I had borrowed an element from the campaign I played in high school which revolved around knights who wore armor based on the metallic dragons. It only made

Muntz-1

Muntz-1

Muntz (front). was a modification of an NPC out of an adventure from an old Dungeon magazine. For those looking to find it, the Muntz character was an old man having issues with singing mushrooms, and the old boat he fished in every day was actually a mi

Muntz-2

Muntz (back). Some of the stuff Muntz carried around with him. Since he was an NPC, I ignored the fact that a magic-user couldn't use a crossbow. :)

One could make the argument that this isn't technically a character, but it sure played a big part in the campaign and, in a way, took on a life of its own. It was a Bag of Holding, but with a very diminutive outer size (About dice bag size. I know this

Sarala-1

Sarala-1

Lady Sarala (front). Oh, and what a front! Lady Sarala, The Naked Lady of Vandris was another character I stole from a module. In the adventure, she was a captured slave the PCs free, but in the midst of the final, big battle she reveals she's a were-t

Lady Sarala (back). And, here we see how we worked around her not wearing clothes. As she was a member of the Order of the Dragon, she needed some dragon "armor" and she got it in the form of gloves and bracers.

Sinec-1

Sinec-1

Lady Sinec Regendered (front). Played by friend, Marc, Sinec started out her career as a male character. But, a funny episode with a Girdle of Femininity/Masculinity made his codpiece less packed.

Marc, still one of the funniest people ...

Sinec-5

Lady Sinec Regendered (cantrips and other). It wasn't often that you ran into a DM who enforced it, but I learned from my old DM that using the "Chance to learn spell" rules add a lot of flavor to a magic-user. Can you imagine a wizard who can

Ta-Ree-1

Ta-Ree-1

Lady Ta-Ree Seabreeze (front). One of my ex's characters. This character had a knack for knowing what was going to happen next or the best way for the party to travel. Probably had something to do with her player sleeping with the DM... :)

Ta-Ree-2

Lady Ta-Ree Seabreeze (back). A fairly mundane equipment list. The "Magic Ring From Dad", however, is interesting. Turned out, Ta-Ree was actually daughter to Lillith (see elsewhere in the album) and that ring came in handy many times!

Ta-Ree-4

Lady Ta-Ree Seabreeze (Lockpick). I have to say, this one came out a whole lot better than I'd anticipated. As a thieve's sword, Lockpick was simply the best. Everything a master thief needed in one convenient, snarky package!
